Hip-hop industry veteran C-Bo has been a pro since 1993. He's reached some great success as an independent artist. Born in Waco TX, C-Bo grew up in Sacramento. His new record The Mobfather II is a West Coast, gangsta-flavored treat. The lyrics are real and passionate, with the opening lines "So hard to survive when I'm hunted by own kind...the strength of my life is the power of my own mind." Later, he raps: "There's nothin in the caterpillar to tell you it's gonna be a butterfly, just let my wings open wide, dear Lord let me fly."
The record's music has West Coast, sometime g-funk influences, but appeals to other mainstream audiences as well. C-Bo releases his albums through West Coast Mafia Records, which he owns. He could be your favorite rapper's rapper - he's been influencing the rap genre since the early '90s, releasing over 10 records and working multiple times with artists such as E-40, Young Buck, Outlawz, and Paul Wall, among many others.
